When vows are meant to last a lifetime,
you find yourself in the midst of people like Wesley and Marianne. Every detail is thought through, every word rings honest, true, full of intent, and lends itself to glorifying the Lord.
After being introduced by mutual friends for the sole intent of knowing they would be perfect for each other, it became abundantly evident that God had brought Wesley and Marianne together. Their story is one of meeting through text conversations, and learning about each other through long phone calls, weekly (and then daily!) video chats, trudging through the difficulties of a long-distance relationship, and finally culminating with a face-to-face where it was more than obvious that their relationship was God-ordained.
Wesley & Marianne's wedding day couldn't have proven to be more perfect. A warm spring day under the southern skies of Georgia. Flowers bursting into bloom around every corner. Family and friends filing in from multiple states, joy and smiles abundant. One of the most striking displays of heartfelt meaningfulness was found in each thought-through detail, beginning with Marianne's dress which echoed of generations of love beginning with her great grandmother, and touching each generation in between and pausing in the present with Marianne. Tulips gracing decor and each bouquet like Spring itself had arrived as a guest. Heirloom jewelry, treasured touches of lace, sheet music, and cherished antique copies of Scripture are among the many details that mean more than just lovely decor - it means a thriving legacy of love and memories that does not end between generations. Everything pointed straight to who Marianne and Wesley are, both individually and together - even their hashtag (which is among my most favorite details of the day): #TheProfessorandMarianne [**cue the lyrics "Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale..." ~ Wesley is a college math professor and Marianne is, well - Marianne].
Being able to watch the goodness of God unfold in their lives is a beautiful blessing.
